VICTORIA’S Bradley Moore claimed this morning’s 60th annual Magnetic Island to Townsville Swim title; pushing through 8km to arrive on The Strand in 1:49:14.

Starting off chilly and choppy, but with seas flattening out; not far behind was local Matthew Pegg in 1:51:25; followed by 15-year-old Jason Alsemgeest in 1:53:47.

Courtney Hayward was the first solo woman to cross the line for the third year in a row in 2:01:05, with Ahlanna Hayes and Eloise Houghton being the next single girls on 2:03:05 and 2:11:20 respectively.

There was a good spectator crowd cheering on competitors, which got noisier and noisier as the morning went on.
