Now at the halfway point of the 31 Days of Activity, Goers are showing no signs of waning on the energy front. All the classes this week booked out with active types of all abilities and fitness levels trying everything from multi sport and kayaking to power yoga and aqua aerobics.
Here is a wrap-up of each day; but we’d just like to say a huge thank you to these businesses involved:
Snap Fitness | Outer Limits Adventure Fitness | Hub Fitness | Flow Yoga Health | River-Sea Kayaking | CrossFit North Queensland | Aqua@Riverway

Jan 8 – Ride Fit
Goers got on their (stationary) bikes, going hard, burning calories and building strength in Snap Fitness’ Ride Fit. This freestyle class was all about intensity, atmosphere and friendly encouragement and is a good option across multiple fitness levels as participants can work to their own level – great for first-timers. If you missed out, visit Snap this month and mention TheGo to receive a $10 casual session. snapfitness.com.au/
Jan 9 – Multi Sport Group Training
With the rain clouds clearing, it was the perfect morning to run, mountain bike and kayak at Rossiter Park. Outer Limits Adventure Fitness’ multi-sport session proved popular as Goers start to think about training for Magnetic Island Adventurethon. There were plenty of multi-sport newbies who embraced the varied and challenging session. Groups were circulated through a kayaking, mountain biking and off-road running circuit so everyone had a go, and the session was topped off with a duathlon in teams of two. If there was any energy left in the tank by then, it was quickly sapped! outerlimitsadventure.com.au/
Jan 10 – Free Boot Camp and Breakfast
Kettlebells, medicine balls, body weight exercises and cardio were all on the menu in this morning session. Hub Fitness’ ladies only boot camp presented plenty of opportunity to get moving at Strand Park and all attendees were treated to a delicious and healthy breakfast afterwards (think fruit salad with yoghurt, zucchini fritters, and coconut chia banana bread). If you missed out, mention TheGo this month (or in February) and receive 10% off a six-week boot camp block. facebook.com/pages/HUB-fitness/
Jan 11 – Beach Power Yoga
Goers welcomed a beautiful morning at Rowes Bay via an invigorating beach power yoga session. Facing the ocean, Kim from Flow Yoga took participants through a series of poses designed to develop stamina, flexibility and balance. It was a perfect way to spend a Sunday morning for yogis of wide-ranging levels of experience and flexibility. Oh, the serenity… flowyogahealth.com/
Jan 12 – Kayaking for Beginners
It was all about getting out and giving paddling a go in this interactive lunchtime session. Ross River and River-sea Kayaking were the ideal hosts for Kayaking for Beginners, with Goers who had never been in a craft before learning the basics. All participants took turns so they could have a break and learn from others. There was also some valuable one-on-one instruction given, which proved great for skills development. facebook.com/riversea.kayaking
Jan 13 – Chick Fit
It was all about fat burning and muscle tone as ladies lifted in Snap Fitness Aitkenvale’s Chick Fit class. This group weight-lifting session is similar to Pump, but is in a freestyle format and changes each time to keep muscles guessing. A participant commented that it was great to have different levels of for each exercise to cater for the various levels of fitness in the class. If you missed out, visit Snap this month and mention TheGo to receive a $10 casual session. snapfitness.com.au/
Jan 14 – CrossFit Express Intro Workshop
The correct technique and methodology of CrossFit was explained in this two-hour express introductory workshop. Fiona Muxlow from CrossFit NQ took attendees through the functional movements that are designed to be mastered, and then performed at high intensity. Goers agreed it was a good taster and eye-opener to CrossFit, with some surprising themselves with their ability (during chin-ups in particular!). If you missed out, you can get 25% off the cost of the beginners’ course or Express Introductory Workshop in Jan or Feb when you mention TheGo. crossfitnq.com.au/
Jan 15 – Aqua Aerobics
Riverway pool came alive with plenty of splashing and laughter during the Aqua Aerobics class. The 45-strong group did everything from running in the water and bicep curls with pool noodles, to tunnel ball and playing ‘jockeys and horses’. It was as fun to watch as it was to do, especially when TheGo’s co-founder Katrina got into the pool fully-clothed to even out the numbers during a partner exercise. If you missed out, mention TheGo this month or in February and get your first class for $5. facebook.com/pages/AquaRiverway/
