Location: Strand Park, North Ward
Wear/bring: Comfortable clothes and must have shoes/trainers/runners (thongs or barefoot is dangerous with hockey balls); plus hats, sunscreen and water.

Activity in a nutshell

Hockey is fun, fast and social! Come and try an Olympic sport in the lead up to Rio 2016!

This program is for children from six years old to 12 who are new to hockey and want to try something exciting. Boys and girls can play together and the session will focus on the basic skills of hockey and then playing some fun games!

What’s great about it?

All equipment including sticks, balls and shin pads are provided so that you are all set to go. There will be accredited coaches taking the session to help you have fun and learn new skills.

Who’s it best for?

This session is aimed at children from six years old to 12 years, but hockey can be played by kids and adults alike. Parents are welcome to stay and watch the action.
