Welcome to the Townsville Triathlon and Multisport Series.

With triathlon listed as one of the fastest growing sports in the world we are certainly seeing the elitism of swim-bike-run being washed away as more Goers embrace these activities at a local level.

There are many forms of this three-pronged discipline; not just in the distances on offer and ability to focus on one leg through participating as a team – but also in the crossover to multisport where the swim is swapped for a paddle and bitumen is traded for trail.

Through this special focus we are hoping to give you the opportunity and confidence to get involved and give it a go through a variety of free sessions.

Don’t worry if you can’t swim, you haven’t been on a bike in years, or you can only run to the next lamppost – this is 100% a judgement-free zone and there are many of us in the same boat. We promise.

We hope the stories about fellow Goers will inspire you and help you to realise that – step by step – anything is possible. And – wow – do you meet some amazing people along the way.

We also have practical articles designed to build your know-how – we welcome topic suggestions from you too: [email protected].

TheGo Townsville is excited to launch the Triathlon and Multisport Series with the support of Top Brand Cycles, Alpha Omega Health, Back2Health360, Hardcore Brands, Peak Performance Swimming, Free Radicals Tri Club, Townsville Triathlon Club, Townsville Triathlon Festival, and Adventurethon. Without their support this community initiative would not have been possible.

Your inspiration – stories

Running over six weeks, we will profile a number of men and women of various abilities where we’ll get to know them and find out what they get out of the sport.
